Colonial Trades: Farmer

I grow crops for my people.  My market will look like a place with a lot of food.  I mainly use hoe, ax, plow, and wheelbarrow.  I grow food and raise animals.  I do milling sometimes.  I stay in one place.  People who don’t have food come and trade me different needs.  I mainly grow indigo, rice, barley, rye, oats, wheat, tobacco, corn, flax, and hemp.  I use wheat for my horses.  I give my leftover foods to the pigs.  I need buckets to milk my cows.  I use the shearer to shear the sheep for wool.  The wool is used to make clothes.  I have one or two rooms in my house and a dirt floor.  I feed the chickens to get eggs. Then when the day is over, I go to sleep.

Brown

Brown, brown all around

Makes a sound of mush, mush, plush!

When you hear it

It’s plopping like mud.

Leaves around,

Dead.

They are sitting on the ground.

Trees are waving in the air

Like a painting in the sky.

Wait for green!

Oh, yes!  It’s coming!
